KIMBO DO SOBA
Kimbo do Soba is a restaurant and tourist village located in Lubango, in Huíla Province, Angola, recognized for its strong inspiration from
Angolan culture. The name refers to local roots: “kimbo” means village in several national languages, and “soba” is the term used to designate the
traditional leader of the community.
In addition to the themed restaurant, the space offers accommodation in rustic and cozy units, ideal for those seeking tranquility, contact with
nature, and an authentic cultural experience. The architecture and decoration reflect traditional Angolan elements, providing visitors with an
immersion into the local identity.
Kimbo do Soba also features leisure areas, views of the region’s mountains, and frequently hosts cultural events, musical performances, and activities
that promote Angolan heritage.
At a time to be advised , transfer from the hotel to Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport for check -in and departure on a southbound flight to Huíla Province . Upon arrival in Lubango, transfer to the hotel . The remainder of the day is free to relax and enjoy the cooler temperatures of this highland city .
Depart Lubango towards Chibia and the remote landscapes of southern Angola . The day is dedicated to encounter with the Mwila tribe, renowned for their colorful necklaces, elaborate hairstyles and traditional dances . Along the way, enjoy a simple lunch before continuing towards Oncócua . In the afternoon, visit the local market, a lively reflection of everyday life in the region . Arrival in Muhakaona villahe for an overnight camping experience .
A full day immersed in the rich cultural mosaic of southern Angola . Visits include the Muhakaona tribe, followed by encounters with the Mútua /Vátua and Muhimba tribes, each offering unique traditions, attire and ways of life . Pic -nic lunch during the day, surrounded by the vast and striking landscapes of the region . Visit to the Oncócoa Market and return to camp and second night under stars .
After breakfast, begin the journey towards Lubango, with a stop en route to visit the Mudimba tribe . Lunch along the road before continuing the scenic drive back to the city . Arrival in Lubango and check -in at Kimbo do Soba .
After breakfast, the journey of Discovering Angola continues southwards . Before descending the impressive Serra da Leba road – a true masterpiece of engineering – we stop at the viewpoint overlooking its dramatic curves . The scenic descent leads to the Mangueiras Market at the foot of the mountain, where, with some luck, it may be possible to spot Mucubal women in traditional attire . A visit to the Ngendelengo tribe follows . After lunch in the city, the afternoon is dedicated to enjoying the spectacular Tundavala Gap, one of Angola’s most iconic natural landmarks . Return to the hotel .
After breakfast , departure for a guided visit to Lubango, starting with the Barracões, where we learn about the history and origins of the city . The tour continues with a visit to Cristo Rei and the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte, two importante landmarks offering insight into the city’s cultural and religious heritage . Lunch in the city . At the scheduled time, transfer to Lubango Airport for the flight back to Luanda .
