Itinerary
Arrival at Namibe Airport . Meet & Greet upon arrival, followed by a transfer to the Hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Guests may choose to enjoy dinner at the hotel or at a selected local restaurante, taking this opportunity to savour some of Angola’s finest seafood, a true highlight of Namibe coast.
Morning departure from Namibe (Moçâmedes) towards Tômbwa. En route, visit to Curoca Hillls (grand canyon), Arcos Lagoon and the iconic welwitschia mirabilis, a unique desert plant. Continue into Iona National Park, where the desert meets the sea, revealing golden dunes, diverse wildlife and dramatic coastal landscapes. Set up camp among the dunes and spend the night under a starfilled sky.
After breakfast at camp among the dunes, departure in 4x4 low tide to drive along the Riscos zone, a spectacular stretch, with sifting dunes, wild coastline and abundant natural scenery. Continue to the crossing point and take a boat transfer to Tigres Island, once home to the settlement of S Martinho dos Tigres, today a ghost town slowly reclaimed by sand and sea. Explore its semi-buried structures and the unique landscape. Return by boat to the desert camp. Dinner and overnight under the stars.
After breakfast, check-out and visit the mouth of the Giraúl River, where desert landscape meet the Atlantic Ocean. Return to Namibe city for an early lunch, followed by a transfer to the Airport for departure to Luanda. Arrival Luanda and transfer to the hotel.
